The quiet seclusion of this old Tudor hall is always appreciated by those in search of some peaceful tranquillity in which to appreciate the natural beauty of the parkland. Nearby are traces of the old, almost disappeared Tatton village where medieval houses once stood: the many centuries of tramping feet which hollowed out ancient pathways across the estate means this corner of the park echoes with a sense of a community long gone, but whose influence on the landscape remains.
The Old Hall is a good base from which to set off on a ramble, has information leaflets to guide you on the best spotting places for different kinds of wildlife, and offers a range of educational courses for adults and children alike.
