This magnificent 18th century Georgian mansion tells the story of the owners and servants who once lived here. There are over 30 rooms open to the public, including the library, laundry, kitchen and stables. There are also fantastic collections of historic artefacts to cast your eye over, such as furniture, paintings and silver. There is also the opportunity to play the piano or try your hand at some Edwardian games in the Gallery.
The architect of the building fell to his death through the roof during final stages of construction, though some conspiracy theorists say he was pushed! It is said that the architect still haunts the hall to this very day.
Set in a 121-hectare deer park, the Dunham Massey estate also has some of the best year-round gardens in the UK, as well as Britain’s largest and finest winter garden.
